There will be 22 contenders in the men’s section and 22 in the women’s section taking to the stage on the 8th day of the event.
The northeastern city of Bojnourd is hosting the competition, which kicked off on Friday morning.
The last batch of contenders in the categories of Tarteel recitation and memorization of 20 Juzes (parts) of the Quran will have their performance tonight while the finals in the categories of Tahqiq recitation and memorization of the entire Quran will be held on Friday.
Winners will be announced and awarded at the closing ceremony, slated for December 9.
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s National Quran Competition is annually held by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of top Quran qaris and memorizers from across the country.
It is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.
